Semi-annually through the Network Integration Evaluations (NIEs) and Agile Process, the Army is assessing capability gaps, rapidly forming requirements, soliciting mature industry solutions and performing laboratory and field evaluations in order to inform acquisition decisions. Prior to sending systems to the Army is conducting laboratory assessments, integration and network configuration management at Army C4 labs prior to the equipment arriving at Ft. Bliss, Texas, and White Sands Missile Range, NM, for gaining unit integration and NIE participation. These laboratories are located at Aberdeen Proving Ground (APG), Maryland. This reduces the in-field integration burden on the 3,800 Soldiers of the 2nd Brigade, 1st Armored Division (2/1 AD), the full Brigade Combat Team who executes the NIE.
