Common Controller

The CC serves as a single common networked controller for many different Infantry Brigade Combat Team (IBCT) unmanned systems. Currently, the Army does not have a common control device for these various unmanned platforms and sensors. The CC is executing a rapid prototyping spiral development effort and has successfully completed Spiral 1, culminating in a successful month-long field exercise at Fort Bliss, Texas, and is now executing two concurrent spiral development efforts (Spiral 2 and Spiral 3). The CC is now on a path for early insertion into the 4th Brigade of E-IBCT (Increment 1).

The CC consolidates control of numerous sensor nodes and unmanned platforms into a single integrated networked controller, providing the dismounted Soldier with Situational Awareness and Intelligence, Surveillance and Reconnaissance capabilities for near real-time decision making. The CC increases Soldier interoperability, reduces the logistics footprint, and simplifies training.
